Press Conference on Polling Center Assessment Findings

On February 10, 2026, B-SCAN organized a press conference at the Dhaka Reporters' Unity. Ahead of the National Elections scheduled for February 12, 2026, B-SCAN has conducted an accessibility assessment to review existing structures and planned arrangements, and the extent to which these will ensure the right of persons with disability to effectively vote on Election Day.

The assessment was undertaken in 28 polling stations across Dhaka (North and South City Corporation), Dinajpur, Faridpur, and Meherpur during the last week of January to first week of February 2026. B-SCAN election activities are implemented with the support of the EU Delegation and the European Partnership for Democracy (EPD). The keynote presentation was delivered by Mahfuzur Rahman Raqeev, Coordinator of B-SCAN. He noted that schools primarily serve as polling stations, but these buildings are often unsuitable to the needs of persons with disabilities. Full report will be published later.
